Eerste crowdfunding tablet op komst van Jolla
Nadat gisteren Nokia met een nieuwe Android tablet kwam, is het vandaag de beurt aan de ander Finse smartphone-fabrikant Jolla. Jolla maakt en verkoopt telefoons met daarop hun eigen besturingssysteem Sailfish. Sailfish is gebaseerd op het oude Meego van Nokia en door Jolla verder ontwikkeld. Ook Jolla komt met een tablet, waarop het nieuwe Sailfish 2.0 gaat draaien.
Om het benodigde geld voor de ontwikkeling enproductie bij elkaar te krijgen, start Jolla een crowdfunding campagne. Het bedrijf vraagt voor een 8"tablet met een goede resolutie van 2/048 * 1.536, 64-bit quad-core Intel 1,8 GHz processor met 2 GB werkgeheugen, 5 MP en 2 MP camera en een ruime 32 GB externe opslag US$ 189 (€ 151). En dat is niet veel geld voor zo'n high-end tablet.
Wanneer Jotta met de tablet op de markt komt is nog niet bekend. Jolla wil via crowdfunding US$ 380.000 (€ 305.000) ophalen en is al een eind op weg.
